Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 13 March 2025

Top o' the morning Trivia fans!

First things first, NO TRIVIA THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 20TH, AT THE WHEELHOUSE BEER GARDEN! We will be back playing our weekly cognitive competition on THURSDAY MARCH 27TH.

Onto the business of things, let's recap last Thursday night's trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden. Boy oh boy, we were back to our good days of packing the tent with teams. 49 players on 12 teams joined us aiming to take the top prizes of $40 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and the second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash.

For a 3-point bonus on round 2 question 1 TWO WEEKS FROM NOW, draw a sad face from missing trivia the week before.

I did not recognize the theme to the evening's questions and answers. A player from Wino Combo pointed out that the theme was "Holes". Not sure the inspiration from the question writers for that one, but we'll take it. The playlist was filled with songs to get us in the St Paddy's day mood.

It was a pretty average first halt of the game. Questions weren't too difficult and every team was still in play after halftime. The house team, Wheel Deal Sex Appeal held first place with 40 points. In second place was The Galavanters and third place belonged to My Personal Favoirtes.

The second half was MUCH tougher than the first with most teams dropping points in every second half round. aHey, if the reward is bigger the task must be tougher. As we arrived at the final question, Wheel Deal Sex Appeal still held the top spot with 72 points. Z-Team were in second place with 62 points. Like in many weeks past, only two of our teams got the correct answer and wagered 20 points. Those teams were Dickens Cider and 5th Street Crew. Dickens Cider took first place with 77 points. Wheel Deal Sex Appeal dropped to second place with 72 points. First timers, 5th Street Crew answered correctly and jumped from 8th place to 3rd place. A very impressive rookie outing for them.

With the house team finishing in second place, top prize on March 27th is $50 Wheelhouse cash . Second place will earn $10 Wheel House cash.

Win first place AND at least one member of your team arrives before 6pm, earn an extra $10. Listen to the setlist between 6pm and 6:30pm for an answer to a question in round 1. The Music Bonus original song was played last Thursday night at some point during our match...

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points. Followed as closely as you can get was  Why So Serious with 41 points. Wino Combo  was in third place with 39 points.
