Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 19 October 2023

Hello Trivia peeps!

Adam here to update you on last Thursday's trivia match. Our last night of trivia outdoors at the Wheelhouse Beer Garden was a packed house for our weekly trivia battle royale. 64 players on 15 teams stepped into the thunderdome taking their shot to bring home the top prize of $90 Wheel House gift certificate, $25 Wheelhouse cash for second place, and $10 second place certificate.

Teams were doing well in the first half. Wheel Deal Sex Appeal held a commanding lead with 45 points and Riot Penguins were second with 36 points.

The second half was difficult for all with no team getting all three questions correct in any of the rounds. Like the previous week's match, all teams had 70 or less points going into the final question. Before the final question, Your Mom, Dear Watson led Wheel Deal Sex Appeal with Wild Wicked Women in third place.

The final question called for all bookworms to order four great novelists' first published novel in order of publication date earliest to most recent. Those books were:  "The Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger released in 1951,  "Player Piano" by Kurt Vonnegut published in 1952,  "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee from 1960, and "Catch-22" by Joseph Heller came out in 1962.

For a bonus 3 points on Round 2 Question 1, draw something to do with the game of (American...) football.

Only G-Unit and Crazy 8s knew the correct order. G-unit waggered 20 points and earned first place. Your Mom, Dear Watson wagered 0 points which was good enough for second place and $25 Wheelhouse Cash. Wheel Deal Sex Appeal  finished third so that $10 prize makes next week's top prize $50 Wheelhouse cash.

Teams that arrive before 6pm are able to receive an extra $10 added to the top prize if they end the game in first place. Remember to find that answer to a first round question in either a song title or artist that is played on the playlist between 6:00 and 6:30.

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. But if you were in attendance, you know I'm referring to our big theme revolving around our Lunar friend. That's right, many questions dealing with the Moon (and some people with the surname Moon) were giving players a run for their money. Completely unplanned, the Moon theme fit as last Thursday was our first time of the season with the tent taken down. We had great weather for it. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points. Followed as closely as you can get was  Why So Serious with 41 points. Wino Combo  was in third place with 39 points.
