Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 12 October 2023

Good day Trivia Lovers!

Adam coming to you from courtside seats at a basketball game to fill you in on last Thursday's trivia match.  Another beautiful Fall night to set the stage for our weekly game. Only one more week of open air before James puts the tent back up over the beer garden.

We had a smaller, more intimate match with only 32 players on 7 teams taking their chance to score the top prize of $50 Wheel House gift certificate and $10 second place certificate.

To some teams' delight and other teams' chagrin, NBA Hall-of-Famers were the subject of many questions throughout the regular rounds. The first half of the match was tougher than normal with no team breaking the 40 point mark even after the Halftime Bonus question. We were very close together at the top of the leaderboard with the teams in first through fourth place only separated by 2 points. Wheel Deal Sex Appeal led with 38 points and Dickens Cider and Let's All Agree with QUIZMO, Then We Can All Be Wrong had second place with 37 points. Those wonderful Wild Wicked Women held fourth place with 36 points.

We kept the tradition of a more difficult second half going that was reflected in almost all teams having less than 70 points going into the final question. As for the music bonus, pretty much every team got everything correct for Van Halen's cover of The Who's We Won't Get Fooled Again. Entering into the final question, Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were on top with a heavy lead on Dickens Cider. Wild Wicked Women were in third place.

The final question had teams order four of the Michael Bay cinematic tour de force sequel films in the Transformers series by year in which they were released earliest to most recent. Those films are Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon, Age of Extinction, and The Last Knight. They were released in 2009, 2011, 2014, and 2017 respectively.

Wheelhouse bartender Mike Mike, being a huge comic book and all around geekdom fan, contributed to the house team being one of the two teams to provide the correct order. The other team being new-ish regulars G-Unit. That gave Wheel Deal Sex Appeal the top spot at the conclusion of the evening and G-unit second place. That $50 Wheelhouse cash prize rolls over to next week meaning our top prize next week will be $90 Wheelhouse cash.

Teams that arrive before 6pm are able to receive an extra $10 added to the top prize if they end the game in first place. Remember to find that answer to a first round question in either a song title or artist that is played on the playlist between 6:00 and 6:30.

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points. Followed as closely as you can get was  Why So Serious with 41 points. Wino Combo  was in third place with 39 points.
