Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 31 August 2023

Hey Everybody!

It's Adam coming to you from Labor........ day weekend recovery to bring you up to speed on this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The WheelHouse Beer Garden.

No hard and fast theme to last Thursday's match other than questions were slightly more difficult than normal. We did not exactly start at 6:30 but once we got things going, it was the same fun as always. 12 teams with 57 players were setting their sights on the top prize of $40 Wheel House gift certificate, $25 runner up house cash, and $10 second place certificate. Two new teams played Let's Do Trivia this past week; Dirty Dancing and Fresh Catch.

All teams were in play after the halftime question. Low Expectations led with 45 points and Hurricane QUIZMO coming soon were in second place with 43 points. 

For a bonus 3 points on Round 2 question 1, draw a slice of pizza.

The final question asked teams to organize Bahrain, Maldives, and Malta according to their population density from most to least.  For the first time in my tenure on the mic, the order in which I presented the things that needed to be organized was the correct order for the question. After leading in the first half and stumbling in the second half, Low Expectations were the only team to answer in the correct order. However they only bet 7 points which was only enough to get them to second place. Hoppy Endings came in third place. Those pesky players on the house team Wheel Deal Sex Appeal again didn't wager any points, thus making them champions of the evening.

During the trivia game, I incorrectly stated the top prize last week was $40 Wheelhouse cash. It was actually $50 Wheelhouse cash because of the house team finishing in second the week prior. Based on their win last night and not keeping the prize winnings, the top prize this week is $90 Wheelhouse cash!

Teams that arrive before 6pm are able to receive an extra $10 added to the top prize if they end the game in first place.

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points. Followed as closely as you can get was  Why So Serious with 41 points. Wino Combo  was in third place with 39 points.
