Wheel House – Let's Do Trivia - 4 May 2023

Adam coming to you live from the exhaust port on the Death Star. 

The Thursday past was none other than one of the best holiday's of the year. That's right, Star Wars Day. May the Fourth Be With You all. And all were out in full force. We had a large group playing Let's Do Trivia at the Wheel House Beer Garden. 55 players across 13 teams were trying to do or do not, there was no trying for the top prize of a $40 Wheel House cash certificate for first place and a $10 second place certificate. For a bonus 3 points next week, draw me your best Jedi Master Yoda.

The new teams that took part last week (Leonburger with Fries, Beach Bums, and Beckman Brains) rejoined us for the fun this week. We alway love it when newbees become regulars.As you could probably guess, Star Wars was the focus of many of our questions throughout the rounds, but we also took that as a chance to ask many movie and actor questions.

Jeopardy Losers Club held a slim lead most of the night over their closest rivals: Wheel Deal Sex Appeal, Dickens Cider, and QUIZMO Keeps His Lightsaber In His Pocket. Last week's top dogs, Wino Combo, were always lurking in wings hanging out in the fifth place neighborhood. The final question asked teams to order the following first movies in a franchise in the order they were released: Toy Story, Mission Impossible, and Austin Powers. Out of the 13 teams, five teams got the order correct. Jeopardy Losers Club and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal could not be topped as they took first and second place, but we did have a shake up below them for third place. Previous week's champions Wino Combo earned the bonus thrid place prize as we had more than 50 players taking part in our contest.

The second place prize of a $25 Wheel House gift certificate rolls over to next week. That means first place next week will earn $65 Wheel House cash. Get there early and figure out the one song played between 6:00 and 6:30 before the game starts that will provide you an answer during the regular rounds with either the song title or the artist.

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. But if you were in attendance, you know I'm referring to our big theme revolving around our Lunar friend. That's right, many questions dealing with the Moon (and some people with the surname Moon) were giving players a run for their money. Completely unplanned, the Moon theme fit as last Thursday was our first time of the season with the tent taken down. We had great weather for it. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points.
