Wheel House – Let's Do Trivia - 9 March 2023 – BLURB

Good day,

 

Adam writing to you today. Another week passes of having Allen prepare me to host Let's Do Trivia on my own at The Wheel House. As I am closer to taking the reins of trivia on my own, I might be very far away from ever hosting the Oscars. And that's what many of our questions and music choices centered around this past Thursday. And the best Hollywood screenwriters couldn't script a better plot line for our game on Thursday night.

 

Thirteen teams with a total of 54 players were the protagonists for our dramatic event. A few teams even saw the fun we were all having after the first two rounds and decided to join in late.

 

There were many lead changes throughout the game. Wino Combo held the thinnest of leads after our halftime bonus question asked teams to name the real-life individual Tom Hanks played in four different movies. In fact, only four points separated the top six teams after halftime.

 

Before entering the final round, I Don't Care What Wild Wicked Women Say, You're Not a Deadbeat Daddy held the top spot with 74 points. Wheel Deal Sex Appeal and Wino Combo were tied for second place with 72 points. Teams were racking their brains to organize three 1940s Best Picture Oscar Winners by the year of release earliest to latest. Qudos to those that got the correct response of CASABLANCA, THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES, and ALL THE KING'S MEN. Only five of the thirteen teams answered the final question accurately.  Back to their winning ways, Wheel Deal Sex Appeal won first place and only bragging rights as their $40 Wheel House gift certificate winnings rolls over to next week's top prize. Actually, since they were the second place finishers two weeks ago, the total prize for first place at next week's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheel House will be $90. Because of our number of players being over 50 individuals, Second AND Third place took home winnings. Wag The Dog finished in second place and won a $25 Wheel House gift certificate, and Riot Penguins won a $10 Wheel House gift for finishing in third place.

2nd: Wag The Dog

1st: Wheel Deal Sex Appeal

 

Teams that have at least one member arrive prior to 6pm win an extra $10 if they take first prize.

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points.
