Wheel House – Let's Do Trivia - 23 March 2023 – BLURB

It's captain Adam ready to take you on a journey around the world in one trivia match. This past Thursday, many of our questions delt with locations, cities, and various ways to hit on geography. Hopefully the 51 players at The Wheel House Beer Garden didn't forget a toothbrush. I'm still waiting on my own audio gear to arrive so Allen hung out in the crowd again and played as team SpongeBob Worthy. Paul and his team anointed be with their team Behold Adam, The Great Quizmo. Reigning champions Wheel Deal Sex Appeal are still throwing teams together with whichever regulars can play while James and Mike Mike serve the crowd. After a week off, Riot Penguins returned to action. The full team of Wino Combo is consistently back again. Former new teams but now regulars: Your Mom, Dear Watson; Low Expectations; Jeopardy Losers Club; Pints (but no Pups); and Beauty Before Brains are consistently showing up and making the game more than interesting.

 

Previous winners Wheel Deal Sex Appeal struggled most of the game hanging around in the middle of the pack. Behold Adam, The Great Quizmo stayed around in the top three most of the night. Newcomers The Plane Team also impressed throughout the match staying in the top three as well. But the dominant force of Riot Penguins led from start to finish and never looked back. They finished the game with 101 points. While finishing with triple digits, they only won the game by two points as Riot Penguins finished with 99 points. The previous three weeks saw the house team Wheel Deal, Sex Appeal placing first or second, so $130 Wheel House gift certificate went to Riot Penguins. Behold Adam, The Great Quizmo earned $25 house cash since we had over 50 players. The Plane Team took third place prize with $10 house cash. Join us next week when our top prize will be a $40 Wheel House gift certificate and second place will take home $10 Wheel house cash.

As always, teams that have at least one member arrive prior to 6pm win an extra $10 if they take first prize.

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. But if you were in attendance, you know I'm referring to our big theme revolving around our Lunar friend. That's right, many questions dealing with the Moon (and some people with the surname Moon) were giving players a run for their money. Completely unplanned, the Moon theme fit as last Thursday was our first time of the season with the tent taken down. We had great weather for it. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points. Followed as closely as you can get was  Why So Serious with 41 points. Wino Combo  was in third place with 39 points.
