Wheel House – Let's Do Trivia - 16 March 2023 – BLURB
Top of whatever time you're reading this!
It's me, Adam, writing to you from the inside of a hollowed out tree where I found the pot of gold! Wait a tick… Nope, it's just the bathroom and I'm holding onto the toilet after a packed weekend of St Patrick's Day celebrations. Last Thursday, we had around 57 players joining us at The Wheel House Beer Garden. Some questions were obviously inspired by the impending green holiday. Allen has given me almost full control of the hosting duties and having not seen the questions or the music playlist, he decided to play along in the game as team SpongeBob Worthy. (Seinfeld fans…?).
Wheel Deal Sex Appeal and Mellifluous or cacophonous (Paul's team) nearly went point for point throughout the first half of the game. Trivia players and also Wheel House employees James and Mike Mike of Wheel Deal Sex Appeal stumbled with an early question trying to name the city where Bailey's was first produced. Dublin my friends.
Teams were tasked with arranging three cities (Limerick, Cork, Dublin) on the island of Ireland from west to east for the final question. About half of our teams provided the correct order.
Wheel Deal Sex Appeal finished the match atop the standings. With three weeks in a row of placing first or second, the top prize next week will be a $120 Wheel House gift certificate. That's a big pot of gold that's looking to be claimed. Come out and join our game and dethrone Wheel Deal Sex Appeal!!!!
Final Standings were:
13th: Win Some, Lose Most
12th: The Crushes
11th: Cyber Sponges
10th: SpongeBob Worthy
9th: CamBam
8th: Pints and Pups
7th: Your Mom, Dear Watson
6th: Jeopardy Losers Club
5th: Wild Wicked Women
4th: Low Expectations
3rd: Mellifluous or cacophonous (Paul's team)
2nd: Wino Combo
1st: Wheel Deal Sex Appeal
As always, teams that have at least one member arrive prior to 6pm win an extra $10 if they take first prize.
Thanks lads and lasses for playing. Looking forward to seeing you all again this coming Thursday. For a bonus three points next week, on Round 2 Question 1, draw for me something "Spring-y".
Best,
Adam
