The Wheelhouse – Let's Do Trivia - 10 September 2022 – BLURB

The weather was once again fantastic this week, but the mood was a bit somber as we had just heard the news.  After an opening half of hour of music either by bands with Queen in the title or songs with Queen in the title, we raised our glasses to the traditional 'The Queen is dead, long live the King'.  With that observance completed, we began play for the triple jackpot courtesy of the house team being two-time defending champions.

Our first half of play saw the Wild Wicked Women let us know they were ready to win by taking a lead, albeit only one-point clear of the house team Wheel Deal Sex Appeal.  Tied for third, Sweet and Salty Nuts and Regina Mortua est, Vivat Rex were five points off the lead.

In the second half, Wild Wicked Women increased their lead somewhat, now 3 points ahead of Wheel Deal Sex Appeal heading into the final.

As is the norm, most teams bet the full 20 points, with only the first place Wild Wicked Women standing pat on their score.  Two teams were able to correctly answer the final question, leaving our beloved Wild Wicked Women out of the prizes.  This proved problematic as they had been consuming heavily all evening and were counting on the winnings to pay down their tab!

Relative newcomers Trivia Chicks stormed up from 7th place to take our second prize, but it was the house team Wheel Deal Sex Appeal that benefitted most by taking the lead and the win.  Well played all and congrats to our three-time defending champions house team Wheel Deal Sex Appeal.

First prize next week is $160, but if the house team wins again, $120 will be paid out to the second place finisher.  See you Thursday!

Happy new week trivia players, Have you taken a look in the night's sky recently? How's that Moon looking? If you didn't join us last week at the Wheelhouse for Let's do Trivia, you probably have no idea what I am talking about. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 1 May 2025

Hello trivia brothers and sisters ! Let's go through our weekly recap of this past Thursday's Let's Do Trivia match at The Wheelhouse Beer Garden . It was a great crowd of 37 players on 10 teams playing for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and our second place prize of $10 Wheel House cash . We had a big theme to most of the questions. We were asking about things to do with siblings, brothers, and sisters. Just like the previous week, this match saw lower scoring than normal in our first half of the game. Coming out of halftime, Raven Lunatics held first place with 35 points.   Wino Combo and Wheel Deal Sex Appeal were tied for second place with 34 points. Dare I say the second half got slightly easier? Points were still dropped but I believe every team got at least a 6 pointer correct in each round. Wheel House - Let's Do Trivia - 17 July 2025

Good day week Trivia teams, Let's do a quick look back to last Thursday night's Let's Do Trivia match at the Wheelhouse.  47 players on 9 teams joined us to beat the heat and beat other teams for the top prizes of $50 Wheelhouse Cash for first place and $10 Wheel House cash for second  place. There wasn't a larger theme throughout the match, but some questions did have an Australian touch to them. There were also a few Bee Gees related questions, even though I would contend they are not Australian and only spent a part of their career down under.  As is usual, most teams had a successful first half of the match. After our Bee Gees halftime question, we had many point totals that were close together in our rankings.  My Personal Favorites  led with 42 points.
